The Best of Bangkok, Thailand!

BANGKOK, THAILAND

Bangkok

What to do: Sightseeing in Bangkok [Sustainable Travel]

My first day in Bangkok was such a thrill! And we packed it in on a sustainable sightseeing tour around the city. Bangkok’s Green Day program has a lot to offer! 🌿☀️ 🌱 #thailandinsider

Taking public transport was a breeze, finding my way to Pak Khlong Talad flower market. 🌸 It was lovely to watch locals create colorful arrangements and stock up on beautiful bouquets 💐. With offerings in tow, we walked to Wat Pho to visit the iconic reclining Buddha. He was just there chilling, just as I saw him 20 years ago. 😉

Next, we cruised along Bangkok’s Thonburi canals in a traditional longboat. Groups can even book a solar powered vessel. We pass by the legendary Wat Arun Temple before diving into smaller canals. I loved feeling the wind in my hair, watching daily life pass by.

We arrived to the most magical hidden gem, Poomjai Garden, where I fell in love with the exotic and enchanting lychee orchard that is over 100 years old! Enjoying a delicious and local farm-to-table Thai food lunch al fresco at Natura Cafe was such a highlight. 🍽️There are many eco-activities to enjoy here in this serene hideaway. @poomjai_garden #PoomjaiGarden

After a quick break at the hotel, we were back out for more, ready for a nighttime adventure. But first, we make a stop in Chinatown. We sample some street food and people watch and take in the vibe. I can’t imagine a more picturesque place to have a bowl of noodles, my fave! 🍜

There, we find our three-wheeled ride, an EV tuk tuk, and zoom around the city. 🛺 We stop at interesting temples and sights as the city glows. Fun attempting a long exposure shot 📸 outside the Grand Palace, before jet lag hit me. This blurry selfie was a mistake but represents exactly how I was feeling at that moment. 🤣

Would have loved to continue and admire Wat Arun at night, but this girl needs to crash. Bangkok, I will be back!

What to eat: Sra Bua, Siam Kempinski Bangkok

Best. Meal. Ever.

Just wowed by EVERY course. And there were sixteen of them. I lost count. 🤣 #thailandinsider

Seriously, I stepped off the plane in Thailand ✈️ and into this innovative, elevated foodie experience at the beautiful Siam Kempinski Bangkok. So charmed by the floating pink lotus flowers and orchids creating such a magical atmosphere. I was just wowed by the dry ice welcoming act arriving to the table, and alllll the interesting food ceremonies to follow. How thoughtful they even had a photo of me at my table! I could get used to this! 😉

The creativity, presentation, and flavors were absolutely outstanding. I was especially blown away by the science experiment happening in front of me to prepare our soup course table side. The melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked beef dish with that incredible onion skin blowtorched right in front of me was so memorable, too. I enjoyed tasting the fermented lotus served in a lotus. 🌸 It was also exciting to play a game of hide and seek trying to identify the chocolate desert in a field of Thai chilies! 🌶️

How nice to have these beautiful postcards of each dish to remember the full lineup.

What an enchanting experience to kick off the trip! 💗

Tag someone you would want to eat here with!!

What to do: Patom Organic Village

One thing I love about travel is having unique experiences. Spending the day at Patom Organic Village @patomorganicliving.th was exactly that—learning by doing while supporting a sustainable family run business who is doing great things for the planet. Eco-toursim in Thailand is what it’s all about! 💗🌏🌱

You can participate in traditional Thai activities through hands-on workshops, and YES, I got my hands dirty! I learned how harvest one of my favorite foods—rice! 🍚

We watched a local farmer step knee deep in muddy water to place rows of rice plants into the soil. When I was invited to join, I had to get in there! I rolled up my pants and stepped barefoot into the squishy rice paddie and got to work! Memories of playing in the mud as a child times 10! 🤣.

We also saw how rice is harvested, a necessary step before it ends up in your bowl. For such a staple item, I found the process to grow organic rice the traditional way fascinating. 🍚 (Also flashback to those days I used to work on food TV shows on Food Network. I used to send people into the field, and now I get to do it! Food is just so fun)!

Patom offers 12 hands-on workshops like natural color flower stamping and assembling a custom organic flower aroma oil. 💐 You can also support local business and buy organic products here.

No surprise, this 10-acre farm is certified to international organic standards. 👊

I enjoyed having a Thai Tea at Patom Cafe Sampran 🧋, located inside a beautiful reflective glass building that overlooks the organic grounds where herbs and roses are grown. 🌹🪴 Later, I visited the restaurant on site and sat down at a tasty farm-to-table Thai food lunch. Delish!

What an exciting day on the farm. Patom Organic Living is about 40km from central Bangkok. Fun to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Where to Stay: Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Praya River

What a treat to check in to the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Praya River in Thailand! 🙌 That sweeping river view from my room won me over. So did the stunning orchid displays in the lobby. 🌺 Want a quick tour? #FSBanglok #thailandinsider

I get to call this classy space home for a few nights? What a luxe basecamp to jump off into some city adventures!

You know the White Lotus @thewhitelotus was filmed in Thailand at the Four Seasons, but it was not filmed at this location. Now I’m on a mission to go see the others…😉

I enjoyed sampling Chef Tommy’s signature tasting menu at Michelin-rated Yu Ting Yuan @yutingyuanbkk for some Cantonese cuisine! 🍽️ #nomnomnom

And happy hour drinks at BKK Social was my kind of vibe. 🥂 @bkksocialclub

I also loved having breakfast at Riva Del Fiume Ristorante—so cute and pink! 👊

Excited to come back here and let time stand still. 💗
